![]() Ann, Haru, and Yusuke got treated so well. There are probably points I'm missing, but eh. Despite the flaws I did enjoy playing quite a bit. ![]() That's a lot of negatives, but the positives are hard to describe off the top of my head. Gameplay was fun, but at the end it just sort of became a 'hit everything that moves and don't die' slugfest, and the 'don't die' part of it was rendered inconsequential because there wasn't a limit to how long the menu could be open or how much stuff you could throw at your teammates before returning to battle. Speaking of which, they didn't really reference the previous story at all, and that made the games feel really disconnected from each-other. I know that this was in production before Royal and so Akechi's presence was still ambiguous, but it would have been nice for him to at least have been teased, orr. The story was nice, though it could have used a bit more fine-tuning. underwhelming? Especially the final one in the totally-not-Mementos jail, which made me procrastinate on fighting for a long time due to intimidation but ended up being really simple and honestly easier than the one in Sapporo. Because of that I really liked Akane's jail, because it was way more of a big puzzle than a 'go here to this' deal. I did notice off the bat that the jails were a bit too similar in mechanics, there wasn't much uniqueness to what you needed to do to reach the end, just a different jail theme and therefore a different map and stuff. I loved Sophia's character, her awakening is my new favorite and it still gives me goosebumps. It wasn’t as good as the original but it filled a much needed void and longing to continue the story of my favorite game. Spoiler: Ichinose did not have enough build up and her motives and flipping from bad to good all felt rushedĪll this said, I still enjoyed the game and would recommend it to any P5/P5R fan. I personally liked the turn based combat better and the hack and slash gameplay didn’t seem to fit the game as well since sneaking was so important to the group in the pervious installment. The jails felt less consequential since we didn’t have to manage time, relationships, and could always hop out stock up on healing items and jump right back in fully rested and stocked up. Most of the bosses felt flat since they were just brain controlled puppets compared to 5/5R fighting rapists and other the evils of the world Voice acting and music were top tier too but I had some complaints as well It was fun, Zenkichi and Sophia were great new characters and I love Akane as well. ![]()
